Upper St. Clair is a planned community located eight miles south of Downtown Pittsburgh. St. Clair was one of the original townships of Allegheny County in Pennsylvania when it was created in 1788. In 1836, it was divided into two separate townships, Upper and Lower St. Clair, and Upper St. Clair adopted a home rule charter in 1976, so it is no longer governed by the Pennsylvania Township code.
Considered one of Pittsburgh’s most affluent suburbs, Upper St. Clair is marked by beautiful homes in a variety of architectural styles. The median home price is $267,000, though many high-end luxury homes are available in the $400,000 plus range.
